HAMPTON, Va., Feb. 9, 2026—The board of directors of Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) announces the appointment of Mr. Joseph Poist as chief executive officer, effective today, Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.

The board selected Mr. Poist following a deliberate and comprehensive process focused on positioning the company for its next phase of growth. His appointment reflects the board’s confidence in his leadership judgment, operational discipline and ability to translate strategy into consistent execution across complex and mission-critical environments. “The board selected Joe for his ability to translate strategy into consistent execution,” said Kevin Seywald, chair of the board. “Joe understands how to build operating rhythm and align leadership teams under strong governance and accountability."

As chief executive officer, Mr. Poist will focus on sharpening strategic priorities, strengthening organizational alignment and driving disciplined execution across the enterprise. He will work closely with the board and leadership team to reinforce long-term value creation for customers, partners and stakeholders. “I am humbled by the board’s confidence and excited to lead this organization,” said Poist. “The opportunity ahead is significant. My focus will be on clarity of direction, disciplined execution and building an enterprise that delivers and grows consistently.”

Prior to joining AMA, Mr Poist served as a vice president at SAIC, where he was accountable for leading a large business group supporting complex government missions. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief of Staff at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where he helped oversee a portfolio exceeding $5 billion in annual programs and a workforce of more than 10,000 civil servants and contractors across multiple locations nationwide. During his fourteen-year career as a civil servant, he also held senior financial leadership roles, including Associate Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Resources, with responsibility for guiding government programs from inception through delivery. Mr Poist earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Salisbury University, graduating with honors as President of Beta Alpha Psi, and obtained his Certified Public Accountant license upon entering the workforce.

Mr. Poist succeeds Mr. John Abrams as chief executive officer. The board thanks Abrams for his leadership and contributions to the company and wishes him continued success.
