From automobiles to spacecraft, AMA has provided cutting edge solutions in design, modeling, analysis, simulation, and optimization. AMA's innovative solutions have helped industry and government improve their product performance.

Spacecraft and mission design

AMA staff have years of involvement and experience in space mission design and analysis. All levels of design are supported, from initial concept definition (where to go and why), to designing mission trajectories (how to get there most efficiently), to sizing and performance analysis of spacecraft systems (what goes there). We provide a broad background in spacecraft sizing, system engineering, and space mission design. AMA personnel are also involved with the design and development of software and tool suites that are used for the sizing and simulation of crewed and robotic spacecraft. A range of analyses on spacecraft and mission design are performed, from rapid initial mass and power sizing of each spacecraft system to detailed system resource simulation throughout the mission.

Flight Mechanics

AMA’s experience in flight mechanics has enabled us to support all aspects of NASA programs. AMA has helped develop, verify, and utilize separation simulation software based on our expertise in multi-body dynamics. This has enabled us to be intimately involved in the critical aspects of the stage separation during launches, entry and descent, and launch abort.

Guidance Navigation and Controls

From linear estimators to state of the art optimal control schemes, AMA has the experience to delivery efficient Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) solutions to a broad range of applications. Our experience in GN&C includes analysis during proposal development, mission planning of actual flight projects, and post flight trajectory reconstruction.

Computational Fluid Dynamics

AMA staff has expertise in CFD analyses for aerodynamics and aeroheating modeling. The internal and external flow analyses at subsonic, transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic flow regimes have been conducted using CFD software at NASA Langley.

Structures and Materials

Our technical expertise spans primary aircraft structures (manned and UAV), rotorcraft rotors and blades, engine shafts, turbines, static structures, space structures and wind tunnel modeling. Our material familiarity covers everything from entire aerospace suites, to composites materials and construction grade steels. We have practical expertise with materials, structural analysis and testing – a winning combination in the development of all hardware components.

Computer Vision

With extensive mathematical modeling, algorithm development, and software architecture design experience, AMA has developed unique capabilities in the field of computer vision. This experience spans both video and image processing. AMA's capabilities have been applied in the areas of intelligent traffic control and facial recognition systems.
