We would like to add a highly motivated Systems Engineer with flight system design and analyses qualifications to our on-site team. The incumbent will support development of the Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) Launch Abort System (LAS). The LAS is a flight system required for crew safety during off-nominal operational conditions. Interaction with the prime contractor for development of the system and the Government LAS Office is required.
Job Description
- Determining and leading independent engineering studies.
- Assessing and reviewing flight system designs and analyses.
- Managing interfaces and requirements for selected subsystems.
- Identifying and mitigating risks.
- Verifying that design meets system requirements.
- Assuring subsystems integration and performance.
Relevant Experience
- System Engineering & Integration (SE&I) experience in multi-disciplinary technical engineering projects.
- Experience with integrating various disciplines, such as Aerodynamics, Guidance & Control, Structures, Mechanisms, Propulsion, Hardware Production and Avionics into assigned LAS subsystems.
Education and Qualifications
- M.S. or B.S. in aerospace/aeronautical/mechanical engineering, or equivalent. Industry experience and advanced degrees are a plus.
- Candidates should have a passion for space and be highly motivated and capable of executing tasks with minimal supervision.
